Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 September 2026
- We collect your contact details, your pet’s details and payment references so we can run your plan and send reminders.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Gallery photos and locker documents are kept in your own browser, not sent to us.
- Your pet’s QR code opens a page that anyone who scans it can see, including the owner’s name and phone number on the ID card.
This summary is only a guide. The full text below is what applies.
1. Who we are and what this covers
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Vet Paw House (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and services, including registration, your pet’s page, reminders, the pet ID card and QR code, and payments. Please read it together with our Terms & Conditions.
We handle personal data in line with Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as they apply to us. By registering or using the Service, you agree to this Policy and consent to the handling of your personal data as described here.
2. Information we collect
- Your details: your name, mobile number (used for WhatsApp and calls) and email address.
- Your pet’s details: name, type, breed, sex, age, weight and photo.
- Plan and payment details: the plan and add-on you choose, the amount, and the UPI transaction reference (UTR) you enter. You pay inside your own UPI app, so we do not receive your UPI PIN, card details or bank password.
- Pet-care information: vaccination and deworming dates, items you tick as done, and your body condition score (BCS) check-ins.
- Content you add: memory gallery photos and locker documents. These can contain personal details such as your name, address or your pet’s medical records.
- Messages: anything you send us when you contact us for help.
- Technical information: basic details such as browser type, device type and IP address, which our hosting and cloud providers normally log, plus the small items your browser stores for the site (see Section 7).
3. How we use your information
- to register you and your pet, and to create and run your pet’s page, ID card and QR code;
- to check your payment and activate, renew or end your plan;
- to send vaccination and deworming reminders, payment and activation updates, renewal notices and important service messages by WhatsApp, SMS, call or email;
- to give you support and answer your questions;
- to keep accounting and other records the law requires;
- to keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and misuse, and fix problems; and
- to improve the Service.
We use your personal data only for these purposes, which are connected to running the Service you asked for, or where the law allows or requires.
4. Where your information is kept
- On our cloud systems: your registration details, plan and payment details, and the reminder details we need to contact you are kept in our cloud database and hosting, provided by Google Firebase.
- In your own browser: memory gallery photos, locker documents, the items you tick as done, body condition check-ins and preferences such as light or dark mode are kept in your browser’s local storage on your device. As the Service works today, we do not automatically receive a copy.
5. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers who help us run the Service and act on our instructions: cloud hosting and database (Google Firebase), and email and messaging providers, including WhatsApp, used to send your reminders. They receive only what they need, such as your phone number or email.
- Payment apps and banks. Your UPI app and bank handle your payment under their own privacy policies.
- The public, through your pet’s QR code and page (see Section 6).
- Authorities and advisers, where the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or to our professional advisers.
- A new owner of the business, if Vet Paw House is ever sold or merged, who must protect your data in the same way.
6. Your pet’s page and QR code
Anyone who scans the QR code or has the link can see what that page shows, which can include your pet’s details and the owner name and contact number on the ID card. This is meant to help a lost pet get home. Share the QR code and link only where you are comfortable with that, and contact us if you want any detail changed or removed.
7. Browser storage, cookies and third-party content
We use your browser’s local storage only for things the site needs to work, such as remembering ticks, your gallery and documents, whether you have seen a reminder today, and your light or dark mode choice. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and code libraries from Cloudflare’s cdnjs. When your browser loads them, those providers can see your IP address and browser details. You can clear browser storage at any time in your browser’s settings.
8. How long we keep your information
- We keep your registration and plan details while your registration is active and for a reasonable time afterwards, for example to handle support questions or disputes.
- We keep payment and accounting records for as long as the law requires.
- When we no longer need personal data, and the law does not require us to keep it, we delete it or make it anonymous.
- Content stored in your browser stays there until you delete it or clear your browser data.
9. Keeping your information safe
We use reasonable safeguards, including trusted cloud providers and limiting who can see your information. No website or system is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
You can help by keeping your box password private, not sharing your pet’s QR code and link carelessly, using devices you trust, and not uploading sensitive personal documents to the locker. If you think your information has been misused, contact us straight away.
10. Your rights and choices
Under Indian law you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data of yours we hold and how we use it;
- correct or update data that is wrong or incomplete;
- erase your data, unless we must keep it by law (for example payment records);
- stop non-essential messages, or withdraw your consent to how we use your data. This may mean some features can no longer work; and
- deal with a complaint about how we have handled your data.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13, from the mobile number or email you registered with. We will reply within a reasonable time, and in any case within the time the law requires. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India as provided in the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
11. Children
The Service is meant for adults who own pets. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 without a parent or guardian’s consent. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date, and tell you about important changes on the website or by message. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated Policy.
